Zumba

I am sure by now everyone has heard of Zumba. If not google Zumba and begin the love affair. I tried the class when it first got here and then this Christmas I received the Zumba for the Wii. Since I am finding myself fit I tried the class on Gunners gym on Foster. The instructor was Gaby.
I took my 15 year old with me for morale support and someone to laugh with. The room ended up being packed but at the advice of a nice lady there got in the second row. Thank goodness we did or I would not have been able to follow the instructor. She used a lot of the real Zumba music instead of clubish music. I was sweating my behind off and getting the hang of it pretty well. I did hurt my knee a little doing some move I think are not made for 35 year olds. haha
Over all I think it was a fun class a little crowded for me and I am not crazy about the super fast pumping motion that made me feel like my fat was going to fly across the room. (like this)

I think I will just do my Zumba for the Wii and shake my tail in the privacy of my own home. (-:

Finding a new way

I want to be fit. I want to find a sport, class, something that I love to do. Right now I love to drink coffee and that is not very helpful in getting fit.
I started in October by hiring a trainer, great start I think. She is knowledgeable, funny, and threatens to make me do more if I wiggle. Just what I need.
I am going to continue training with her to get the strength I am going to need to help me on my journey. I am stronger. I can do things I didn't think I could do. I love it.
NOW cardio... I am supposed to be doing cardio on the off days. Umm yeah I don't. I haven't made it a priority. I have crappy cardio vascular health. I am not even sure what that means. ha I do know I feel like I will die if I try and run very far.

I move from my current home of Okinawa to the US in 6 months. I am going to make some goals to accomplish before that time.

GOALS

1. Find out what exactly Cardio vascular health is.

2. Wear shorts, not long Bermudas and not skanklicious ones just some nice age appropriate but adorable shorts.

3. Run with the WOOT (check them out here) I REALLY want to be able to keep up with these women. I want to BE this woman.

4. Run with my daughter up to the shrine. It is up the mountain/hill near our house.

5. I want to know how to fuel my body. I want to have such a grasp on that kind of information that I can explain it to my kids or my friends or you if you ask.
Don't ask yet please.

6. I want to be proud of what I can accomplish. What I can push myself to do.

7. I want to grow in my walk with the Lord. My spiritual walk is in the same shape I am in and that is not cool. I need to develop spiritual and physical discipline.

I have other goals some zen, some vain. I am not listing them all but I want to try things I never have. 5 am spinning anyone? TRX? Boxing? If you have any ideas let me know I want to try all kinds of new things.

I will try different ways to get fit and I am sure if I keep trying I will find something I love.
What's first?? Let me check the gym schedule of classes they offer.
